Overview:
Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA) is looking for an exceptional NGS Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the team. This position is responsible for accurately performing specimen analysis, instrument maintenance, and quality control procedures including moderate and high-complexity laboratory tests. Initiates and follows quality assurance and safety policies and procedures. Performs specimen collection and assists with patient flow as needed. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Processes / eva lu ates patient specimens in accordance to SOP, including reference lab specimens . Reso l ves is s ues with specimens that are time / temperature
Performs routine instrument maintenance following manufacturer's s pecification s (i ncludin g startup and shut down) and documents
Corrects basic instrument malfunctions and documents them .
Co mmunicates instrumentation status to appropriate staff members and notifies vendors to sc hedule service
Performs instrument calibrations following manufacturer's s pec
U tilizes standard quality control practices in decision-making to ensure reliable testin g and proper regulatory comp l
Performs proficiency testing in a manner and time frame that is consistent w ith good laboratory
Performs and approves specimen testing using sound judgment and evaluation .
Releases results in accordance with departmental
Performs Stat and rout in e orders within estab l ished time
Communicates and logs critica l va lu es according to
