Pathologists' Assistant

Marshfield Labs is one of the largest full-service private practice laboratory systems in the nation, reporting more than 25 million tests annually. Monday through Friday coverage - flex hours to meet surgical service needs.

The Pathologists' Assistant is responsible for maintaining a well-organized and efficient operation in the areas of gross description and dissection of surgical tissues, submission of specimens for histologic examination and other laboratory testing, submission of tissue for research, assisting with postmortem examination to include dissection of tissues and dictation of case information. Additional responsibilities include photography, tumor board preparation, Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC), and medical coding.

Requires:

• Completion of a nationally recognized Pathologists’ Assistant Training Program leading to a Bachelor or Master of Health Science degree.
• Pathologists' Assistant PA certification as awarded by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 1 year of hire; at time of hire preferred.
