The Facilities Supervisor/Building Operations Manager works
as a member of a team within the DGSOM Dean’s Office that supports management,
planning, organization, coordination, oversight, and performance of building
management services provided by both campus units and DGSOM staff to DGSOM
campus buildings in Westwood. Across over 4 million square feet of space, this
position is responsible for development of procedures, policies, and
communications related to infrastructure and safety, and for management of a
team of building coordinators who help to accomplish objectives defined by
leadership.
The Building Operations Manager is responsible for
coordination among DGSOM departments and the organization as a whole and its
peer schools, which share resources, occupy the same buildings, and are served
by the same campus and health system service providers. The Building Operations
Manager functions as an advisor to all the health sciences schools’ leadership
in building management and contributes to maintaining a safe, professional
working environment.
The Building Operations Manager will analyze and resolve
problems, interpret UCLA and UCLA Health policies in the areas of facility
management, safety, and purchasing, and demonstrate subject matter knowledge to
support good business judgement that supports community and culture across
organizational units. Acting with a high level of independence, the Building
Operations Manager will collaborate with the Director for Safety and Building
Operations and peers within the team to plan and strategize around projects and
initiatives that support the entire school, including renovation projects,
process improvement, and negotiation with service providers, demonstrating a
strong understanding of UCLA and UCLA Health’s business practices and how to
maintain efficiency and quality within those parameters.
Annual Salary Range: $76,200 - $117,500
