As a RN Clinic Specialist, you will work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team with responsibility providing professional and quality nursing care in our specialty clinics. This individual performs both independent and delegated tasks, which include assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for assigned patients within a specialty area. Accept change, engage in ongoing process improvement, and provide outstanding customer service and care.
What you will do as a RN Clinic Specialist:
- Provide clinical research assistance to U faculty performing clinical research.
- Follow GCP (Good Clinical Practice) guidelines in the conduct, performance and recording of clinical research; support principal investigator (PI) compliance with same.
- Facilitate the successful implementation of a protocol, read, and interpret clinical protocols, assess needs, evaluate feasibility and provide input to facilitate implementation.
- Identify potential risks and take steps to promote subject safety.
- Identify interdisciplinary and facility resource needs and facilitate implementation. Prioritize protocol needs, potential risks, determine priority problems and implement plan to address.
- Collaborate with other disciplines involved in the research process.
- Demonstrate effective and efficient communication with study sponsors, monitors, dept and U staff, health team members.
- Maintain accurate and complete research records, supplies, time keeping tools.
- Maintain safe physical environment for research subject.
- Complete and maintain essential and regulatory documents.
- Maintain compliance with protocol requirements.
- Perform interventions; administer medications, fluids, treatments, and other substances.
- Monitor subject responses to protocol/treatment/interventions to determine the presence of expected and unexpected adverse reactions.
What you will need:
- Associate's (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and current Minnesota RN license
- BLS certification
- 5+ years of hospital or clinic experience, Oncology/BMT/Infusion preferred
- Experience with electronic health record systems
Preferred:
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy administration preferred - or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Location: Clinical Research Clinic, 516 Delaware St. SE, Minneapolis MN
Hours: 1.0 FTE, Clinic hours 7a - 5p, occasional evenings and overnights scheduled on a rotating schedule. Evenings 2-3/month, overnights once every 2-3 months.
