The Emory University School of Medicine and the VA Health System in Atlanta, GA are seeking an experienced academic hematologist/oncologist to fulfill the role of Hem/Onc Service Chief.
Leadership responsibilities include oversight of the performance, productivity, deployment, quality, compliance, etc. of the professional team; VA committee memberships; patient service operations leadership; local education management; and, clinical and other research development. Individual responsibilities are typical for a mid-career clinical investigator, including direct in/out-patient services, sponsored research, and education.
This position includes VA Health System salary and benefits and an Emory University faculty appointment, with associated compensation and research development support, as appropriate. This position reports to the Chief of Medicine at the Atlanta VA and to the Chair of Hematology and Medical Oncology in the Emory School of Medicine.
Applicants must be board-certified in hematology and/or medical oncology, and eligible for licensure in Georgia. Competitive candidates will have at least 5 years medical practice experience in hematology and/or medical oncology, and experience in leadership, academic scholarship, sponsored clinical research, and medical education. Experience in the VA Health System is preferred.

Hematology and Medical Oncology is a named department in the Emory School of Medicine.
