The Duke Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a full-time cardiothoracic anesthesiologist to work in both the Cardiothoracic OR and the CTICU at Duke University Medical Center.
Ideal candidates will be BC/BE in Anesthesiology, possess fellowship training in both critical care and cardiothoracic anesthesiology, and board certification in perioperative transesophageal echocardiography.
A commitment to teaching and research (in clinical, translational or basic sciences) is also desired.
Both the Cardiothoracic ORs and the CTICU is located in Duke Medicine Pavilion, a modern surgical tower with 160 critical care rooms, 16 state of the art operating rooms, hybrid rooms and an imaging suite with iMRI and iCT technology.
The Division’s goal is to promote a constant interplay between scholarly educational activities, research, and clinical practice, with the goal of identifying clinically relevant questions that ultimately benefit patient care, enrich the educational experience of the next generation of cardiothoracic anesthesiologists and intensivists, and promote health equity.
