SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Directly supervises a team of BMET Technicians and/or Imaging Engineers. Assigns work, sets work priorities, monitors completion, and holds others accountable to department standards and expectations. Resolves customer service issues and supports departmental leadership. Capable of educating others including clinical staff on medical equipment. Fully experienced with an exceptional skill set or knowledge, works with minimal supervision; capable of serving as a trainer, mentor to junior and mid-level staff. May lead projects and monitors work performance of others. Participates in hiring activities and completion of annual performance reviews. Can work independently without daily management oversight and manage their workload and workload of others independently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
Supervise the work of employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.
Sets work priorities and holds others accountable to department standards and expectations.
Monitors completion of work.
Monitors help desk tickets and distributes incoming work to others in the department.
Manages staff resource allocations and assignments.
Understands and applies existing vendor management policies and provides feedback on vendor performance.
Sets departmental and staff goals and conducts staff reviews in alignment to those goals.
May lead projects.
May review devices and assess medical device cybersecurity issues in conjunction with IT.
Identifies and implements techniques for optimizing departmental spend.
Provides feedback to management about contracts including analyzing data to make recommendations for coverage on equipment.
Aids equipment planners/management on assessment of equipment and help manage installation, relocation, or activation planning on projects.
Some of the day to day work may be spent traveling.
May be required to work flexible hours, including on-call.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Associate?s degree in Biomedical or Electronics Technology or related field or equivalent military training required.
Minimum seven (7) years of related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Valid driver?s license preferred.
BMET certification preferred.
IT certification, such as networking or A++ preferred.
Previous management experience preferred.
