Description
Incumbent
will perform duties as a Central Service Technician (CST) which includes
distribution of supplies and equipment as assigned within all facilities at
UCLA Health System including community clinics. This position is a support
position to all patient care units, including the procedural, interventional,
and radiology areas.
Duties
include:
Perform replenishment of
supplies and place electronic orders using mobile device or requisition
application to replenish inventory to set pars.
Receive and transport supplies
and put away supplies to their destinations.
Deliveries include driving
university vehicles to transport supplies and equipment to UCLA community
clinics.
Reconcile packing slips against
ordered and delivered content using multiple software platforms.
Work closely with the clinical
staff to identify their product needs and staging preferences.
Communicate with customer on
their requests.
Assess and revise par levels to
accommodate changing demand.
Set up and/or modify products
within a supply management software.
Recommend or assist in
inventory cost reduction initiatives.
Assist in the management of
back-ordered items via notification stickers and on-hand counts.
Assist in picking up supplies
from inventory locations.
Assist in consolidating return
supplies.
Assist clinical staff with
researching patient supplies used for charge posting reconciliations.
This is a "as needed" part-time per diem
position; schedule and work hours may vary. May convert to Career.
Salary
Range: $25.06-25.06 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to operate a University
vehicle to deliver supplies to multiple off-site locations.
CA Driver’s License (subject to
DMV Pull)
Ability to push and pull up to
100 pounds, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience using an Electric
Pallet Jack, Manual Pallet Jack, Forklift, Furniture dollies, Supply
Dollies, and Heavy Duty transport carts.
Strictly obeys the healthcare
regulations for infection control.
Provides resources information
regarding proper sterilization techniques, product information, equipment
operation etc. to fellow staff and other healthcare team members, serving
as a resource for people needing direction as required.
Consistently demonstrates a
high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Consistently adheres to
Materials Management / Receiving and UCLA Policies and procedures.
Attends all
in-services/workshops as requested. Assists in the orientation
and skill development of new staff members.
Always ensures a safe, clean
working environment for self and co-workers. Monitors and reports unsafe
acts or conditions and assists with resolutions.
Consistently maintains good
guest relations interdepartmentally, intra-departmentally, using English
language in both written and verbal format. Demonstrates good telephone
etiquette. Is sensitive to co-workers, patients, and family members, in a
courteous and respectful manner.
Maintains a positive attitude
and behavior: efficient with time utilization/productive, strives to be a
team member, prompt attitude, adapts to change in workload, adapts to
variable rotating shifts, conducts personal business on break or lunch
time.
Always responds to the needs of
all areas. If unable to meet the needs, keeps the area informed
and offers alternatives.
Will actively assist in meeting
the needs of the department.
Preferred:
Previous hospital experience.
Experience in electronic
ordering using a handheld and in extracting reports from a fully
integrated supply chain fulfillment software such as Lawson.
