The role you’ll contribute:
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Manager is an advocate for the nursing professional development team and manages the activities and personnel in the NPD department to provide the development of clinical excellence in assigned areas through active participation in education, role development, collaborative partnerships, research/ evidence-based practice/ quality/performance improvement, onboarding/orientation, and competency management. The NPD Manager functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions as they guide the department towards desired outcomes. The NPD Manager is responsible for, as a result, quality and safety are enhanced, and patient outcomes are improved.

·Selects applicant for interview and hire and assures appropriate orientation.
·Suspend or invoke other discipline for work infractions, performance deficiencies and conduct violations by exercising supervisory authority.
·Evaluates supervised employees, recommends promotion of supervised employees, and recommends bonuses and awarding of other discretionary rewards to supervised employees.
·In collaboration with the Human Resources Department, terminates supervised employees, where appropriate.
·Actively involves all groups in shared decision-making where appropriate.
·Uses skill in effective conflict management and is able to reach a common goal and resolve conflicts
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
·Bachelor’s degree in nursing
·Minimum two (2) years in Nursing Professional Development role or previous clinical leadership experience
·Current, valid Florida State of Nursing license as a registered professional nurse
·Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification
