Clinical Psychologist Manager: St. Louis Children’s Hospital Department of Psychology.
This new psychologist position at St. Louis Children’s Hospital expands the leadership team in the Department of Psychology. The Clinical Manager is responsible for direct leadership for the clinical providers in the department as well as providing clinical/administrative oversight. The department provides high quality, evidenced base care through its service lines for pediatric neuropsychology, pediatric psychology, and child clinical psychology across sites within the acute care hospital and ambulatory care centers. In partnership with the department’s business manager and behavioral health director, this role will drive efficient and effective practices for daily operations, quality, and revenue functions. In addition, this role will partner with other leaders across the hospital system to ensure essential integration of psychology with other services.
The SLCH Department of Psychology is comprised of pediatric and child clinical psychologists and pediatric neuropsychologists who hold clinical faculty appointments in the Washington University School of Medicine. Role Purpose
Performs psychological evaluations, assessments, psychotherapy and consultation during the course of treatment for patients and their families. Responsible for program development, management and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Provides psychology clinical services to patients and their families. Manages operations of the department, and integrates services within the work unit and with other departments.
Acts as a resource and liaison to hospital staff and outside community.
Develops and coordinates psychology training program.
Initiates independent and collaborative research initiatives, and disseminates research findings through publications and presentations.
