About the opportunity:
This position supports the administration of various clinical trials conducted at the Vail Health Center for Behavioral Health Innovation through the recruitment of subject participants, informing participants about study objectives and administering questionnaires, planning and administering clinical trials in adherence with local, state and Federal regulations and internal policies and procedures, and collecting and analyzing data in coordination with the research team.
What you will do:
Works with the principal investigator and the clinical trial research supervisor to develop and implement recruitment strategies in accordance with institutional review board requirements and approvals. Assesses eligibility of potential subjects through methods such as screening interviews, reviews of medical records, and discussions with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers. Conducts pre-screening procedures, including telephone and in-person pre-screening following approved procedures.
Oversees subject enrollment to ensure that informed consent is properly obtained and documented. Collects and records data accurately according to study protocols, including tracking enrollment status of subjects and documents dropout information such as dropout causes and subject contact efforts. Collects urine and/or blood samples and obtains vitals from study participants.
Performs routine data entry and database management tasks. Assists with the preparation of study-related documentation such as reports and data summaries. Assists with development of study databases and user acceptance testing.
Supports the clinical team in conducting study visits, including administering questionnaires and conducting interviews. Maintains required records of study activity including case report forms, regulatory binders, drug dispensation records, or regulatory forms.
Assists with monitoring efforts related to human research participant protection, including documentation of adverse event data.
Assists with scheduling and coordinating study visits and meetings. Maintains professional and appropriate correspondence and communications with study participants.
Assists with compliance and quality assurance, including assistance with internal audits, inspections and participates in training sessions and team meetings as required. Assists in problem resolution efforts such as protocol revisions.
Collaborates with the research team to prepare presentations or reports of clinical study procedures, results, and conclusions. Reviews scientific literature, participates in continuing education activities, and/or attends conferences and seminars to maintain knowledge of clinical studies affairs and issues.
Adheres to all institutional and regulatory guidelines regarding confidentiality and ethical conduct.

Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in clinical trial administration, required.
Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance.
Preference for applicants fluent in Spanish.
License(s):
Current, valid Driver's license and ability to pass Vail Health's Motor Vehicle Report criteria, preferred.
Certification(s):
Phlebotomy certification, preferred.
Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Must be comfortable working with various software programs and be proficient with MS Office suite.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Education:
Enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., Psychology, Nursing, Biomedical Science) or graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in healthcare, life science, or related field, required.
