Job Summary
The Access Control Technician ("Technician"), with general supervision, creates and updates badges for DHHA's new employees, students, residents, contractors, vendors, volunteers as well as existing personnel, visitors, and others requiring building access. The Technician works closely with Security, HR and the Education Dept by printing badges, giving credential access, and giving notices if there is a redundant anomaly. The Access Control Technician works in cooperation with various departments of Denver Health to obtain the information for the personnel onboarding or already working on campus, including employees, contractors, volunteers, students and physicians etc.
Essential Functions:
Badge Office Greet and assist "walk-in", Issue identification badges in accordance with hospital policy. Checks identity and proofing process with valid government ID; Updates expiration dates on badges, takes pictures for badges, maintain inventory logs (40%)
Audit and Compliance Maintain audit and compliance records related to authorization of access control levels and identities, Maintain inventory logs for all badges created (Badging Tally and Door Access) (25%)
Updates Databases : Usertool, Security Access Control System (S2), MyClinicalExchange (MCE), The Pulse as needed
(20%)
Office and File Maintenance Complete, scan and file paperwork, Purge files for shredding and researching, Maintain the functioning of the badging machine as needed (replace ribbon and clean), Order cards, laminate and lanyards and all other required supplies (15%)
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Work Experience:
Less than 1 year Access Control experience required
Licenses: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Capable to work with confidential information
Familiarity with Web Security Solutions. Ability to interface with the security Access Control System (S2)
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
Organization skills
Ability to interact with the customers and provide excellent customer service.
Ability to use access control software to program access levels
