The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Indiana University Health is seeking vibrant and highly motivated caregivers to join our OB Laborist team in the new Riley Maternity and Newborn Unit Tower. The OB Laborist is a critical part of our patient-centered obstetric care model, seeing a socially diverse population of patients from the Indy Metro area and high-risk maternity patients from around the state.
We are seeking someone for supplemental shift-work.
Position Highlights
Supplemental/PRN with opportunity to cover 12 or 24 hour shifts
Manage OB inpatients in collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
Deliveries, both vaginal and caesarean sections, plus D&E and D&C procedures
Consultative support for the OBED, Family Medicine and Nurse Midwife
Deliveries at the Level IV Riley Maternity and Newborn unit with a Level IV NICU
Teaching and supervision of OB/GYN residents and medical students
Collaboration with Certified Nurse Midwifery practice
Call or Text for compensation
Qualifications
Eligible for academic appointment with the Indiana University School of Medicine
Excellent clinical skills and teaching skills
Collaborative team player
Strong interest in patient-centered obstetric care and teaching
Completion of OB/Gyn residency
Board certified/eligible in OB/Gyn
Physician MD/DO licensed in Indiana or eligible

Opened in 2021, the tower has the accommodations to support traditional birth plans, and the experience of exceptionally and nationally ranked pediatric and adult specialists to care for high-risk pregnancies and babies with critical needs. The facility is designed so that pregnant patients and newborns have access to highly skilled care under the same roof.
