We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Pre/Post Anesthesia Resource Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a seasoned perianesthesia nurse who is passionate about patient care and unit advancement. The successful candidate will split their time between clinical duties, staff education and leading unit improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Provide comprehensive pre- and post-anesthesia care to patients.
Monitor patients vital signs and manage pain and other post-operative symptoms.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Educate patients and their families about anesthesia procedures and post-operative care.
Unit Advancement Projects:
Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives within the perianesthesia unit.
Develop and implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and safety.
Mentor and support nursing staff in adopting new protocols and procedures.
Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of unit advancement projects.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or obtained within 5 years of hire; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in perianesthesia nursing.
Proven experience in leading quality improvement projects, nursing education focused.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington.
Certification in Perianesthesia Nursing (CPAN or CAPA) preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong clinical skills in pre- and post-anesthesia care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis.

Registered Nurse license (RN) in Washington State or multi-state licensure endorsement (MSL)
Current BLS Certification required
ACLS or NALS or PALS or TNCC or NRP certification, as required by facility or department
Certification in specialty area preferred
One (1) year of experience in acute care setting preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $42.64 - $82.29 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicants years of experience align.
