With a legacy beginning in 1902, Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College has a strong tradition of educating health care professionals.
Goldfarb School of Nursing is located on the Washington University Medical Campus in St. Louis and is affiliated with Barnes-Jewish Hospital, with a second site at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Role Purpose
The Simulation Director is responsible for advancing and integrating technology – facilitated teaching/learning within the simulation department.
Responsibilities
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Creates a simulation plan to maximize utilization of resources. Assesses the rigor of each simulation experience in order to ensure achievement of student learning outcomes.
Researches and promotes the adoption of creative and emerging trends in clinical, instructional simulation and multi-media technologies. Evaluates the teaching/learning effectiveness of the various simulation scenarios to ensure quality of academic rigor throughout the curriculum.
Collaborates with faculty, simulation team and leadership to design and enhance simulation experiences for the students, to promote scholarly work and to achieve accreditation status.
Educates staff and faculty on new products that will enhance the simulation department in order to align with the mission of the College.
