The Department of Surgery at University of California, San Francisco, Division of Surgery at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time academic surgeon with an exemplary record of patient care and expertise in Trauma/Emergency General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care for either an In-Residence or Clinical X track faculty position. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Candidates who have a proven track record in scholarly work (basic/translational science, public/population health research, health policy or health services research) are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates who have experience in the development and maintenance of clinical practice guidelines and quality improvement are desirable.
This position will be primarily based at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, and there may be additional clinical work at University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, San Francisco VAMC, or affiliated sites.
Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency/fellowship training and educational programs.
