Role Purpose
Provides the strategic vision, as well as ensures performance to the direction through the management of a team of sourcing managers and sourcing coordinators. Leader's team negotiates, implements and evaluates an assigned section of BJC's portfolio of capital, pharmacy, supply, service, IT, marketing, HR, or finance contracts. Develops strategies for the efficient and cost effective sourcing of products and services to meet the organizational requirements. Reviews and analyzes the market, technologies, trends, and purchase history to determine the potential impacts and improvements capable in the market place. Additionally, reviews and analyzes new equipment, products, and services. Works with senior executives internally and externally to measure and improve supplier performance across all aspects of their relationship with BJC. Creates and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the department's goals.
Responsibilities
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Participates on best practice exchange teams or other work teams established to effect change.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
On behalf of BJC, manages and is responsible for large cross-section of supply/service categories, their contracts, supplier relationships, supplier performance, and their costs. Category totals more than $250M in annual expenditures.
Works collaboratively cross-functionally to coordinate contract implementation, performance. Develops and creates strategies to maintain and grow supplier relationships and serves as primary point of contact for large cross-category suppliers. Develops strategies related to supplier performance reviews, works with key internal leaders and stakeholders to evaluate supplier performance and in the identification of opportunities.
Responsible for clinical categories, engaging with physicians and clinicians ensuring internal alignment on the management of categories. Define stakeholder needs and advises on forecasted performance both in terms of savings generation and supplier performance. Advises on annual budget development.
Guides cross-functional teams regarding initiatives to identify the most cost effective and patient focuses products and services.
Responsible for team's contracts, implementation of results. Responsible for team's pricing accuracy, payables improvement, supplier contract status. Responsible for savings generation of a minimum of $10M. Analyzes pricing & financial trends to develop strategic initiatives and strategies for sustainable year-over-year pricing improvement.
