DescriptionThe Staff Research Associate 2 (SRA 2) position requires a candidate that is self-motivated, demonstrates initiative and be able to work independently and as a part of a team on research grade projects. The SRA 2 will perform laboratory supervisory tasks including meticulous records keeping, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, stocking and placing laboratory orders. Strong organizational skills are required, attentiveness to details, multi-tasking and ability to communicate effectively.
This is a limited position that may convert to career.
Salary Range: $28.88 - 46.46 Hourly
QualificationsRequired:
Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment and supplies.
Good communication skills and ability to work well with multiple individuals.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized working area.
Ability to keep accurate and organized lab records.
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to switch focus as needed.
Demonstrated knowledge of chemistry to prepare solutions for lab experiments.
Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for handling chemical and biohazard waste.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques.
Working knowledge and ability in the use of computers (PC and MAC operating systems).
Skill in using various computer software.
Excellent attention to detail, for accurate data entry and analysis.
Ability to complete tasks in an orderly and timely fashion.
Skill in writing clear and concise correspondence.
Willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including occasional overtime to meet deadlines.
Ability to effectively handle and restrain mice and rats; knowledge of rodent anatomy
Preferred:
B.S. degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
