The role you’ll contribute:
Works closely with the physician practice, specifically within bariatric surgery practices, to provide medical nutrition therapy that is integrated and compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives.

Utilizes established nutrition care process and critical thinking to collect, analyze and interpret nutritionally pertinent data per established standards.
Assesses educational needs when pertinent.
Selects specific goals that are reasonable, measurable and achievable for patients.
Documents outcomes on patient care plan and signs off and/or revises as applicable.
Evaluates achievement of learning objectives by the patient and/or family and documents results in appropriate area of medical record.
Evaluates the effectiveness and measures progress towards outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
NUTRITIONAL/CLINICAL SKILLS:
Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy.
General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, basic computer skills, e-mail and spreadsheet software.
Ability to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc.
Reviews and/or updates resource/reference materials when applicable or required .
Identifies specific patient or staff needs, initiates and develops educational or clinical materials then evaluates outcomes.
Assures that care delivered to each patient is in accordance with established standards.
Skill and knowledge in working with an electronic health record system.
Provides appropriate intervention in accordance with the identified patient’s goals.
Reassesses and updates nutrition care process and implement changes as indicated.
Assessment, interventions and procedures utilizing equipment are appropriate for age group.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Completes a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and course work approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND)
Completes a CADE-accredited supervised practice program at a healthcare facility, community agency, or a foodservice corporation, or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
Registered Dietitian(RD) with Florida State License (Or proof of submission for FL License if out of state)
OR
Registered Dietitian Eligible (RDE) - Must sit for Registration exam and pass within 120 days of hire in order to maintain employment.Once Registration obtained, must show proof of Florida State Licensure submission.NOTE: RDE will have all medical record documentation co-signed by Registered/Licensed Dietitian until Primary Source Verification of Registration and Florida Licensure is obtained.
