Job Summary
The CPE Educator is an integral team member in the Spiritual Care services and Pastoral Education in Harris Health System. The Educator participates in all aspects of the department scope of service including, but not limited to: CPE programming and instruction; provision of spiritual care to patients, families, and staff; professional and interprofessional education.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
a) Master's Degree in Theology (or equivalent) required; Master in Divinity preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
a) Board Certified Chaplain or ACPE Certified Educator: From Association of Professional Chaplain, Spiritual Care Association, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or Neshama Association of Jewish Chaplains. Ordination or equivalent preferred with endorsement by appropriate religious adjudicatory. (Preferred)
b) Clinical Pastoral Educator
c) Current membership in the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education as Associate or Full CPE Educator or any of its equivalent for Certified Educators.
Work Experience:
a) Three (3) Years Work Experience: As chaplain in health care setting
b) One (1) Year Work Experience: Instructing CPE students
Communication Skills:
a) Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
Language:
a) Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English preferred.
