Job Summary: The Lead Transfer Center Nurse is responsible for coordination of daily / shift transfer center operations and for assisting the Administrative Director with human resource, quality, and financial management of the transfer center. The Lead Transfer Center Nurse will function as a clinical resource nurse for transfer processes; participate in department and district Committees; collaborate with community stakeholders; coordinate services/special projects; facilitate educational activities to promote professional growth; and provide administrative/operational support to the department. The Lead Transfer Center Nurse has the authority to make operational and human resource decisions relevant the transfer center and their assigned shift as long as decisions are consistent with district, nursing, and departmental policies, standards; other approved transfer and transport guidelines; and regulatory requirements. The Lead Transfer Center Nurse is responsible for facilitating an environment that supports professionalism and empowers staff to provide safe, effective, compassionate, and efficient transfers in collaboration with all stakeholders. The Lead Transfer Center Nurse ensures compliance with standards established by professional nursing organizations; national, state, and local regulatory agencies; and institutional policies and procedures. The Lead Transfer Center Nurse is responsible for high standards of integrity and ethical behavior. The Lead Transfer Center Nurse mentors others and role models professionalism.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Holds one (1) of the following: Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree.
Current license or valid permit to practice professional Nursing in Texas.
Applicable professional certification in related specialty to be completed within two (2) years, if not held at the time of appointment.
2.Work Experience:Two (2) years of RN work experience. Case Management, Quality Management, or Discharge Planning preferred.
3.Management Experience:Supervisory experience required
4.Equipment Operated:Must have basic level computer application experience/skills (Excel Word, etc.)
