Please be advised of the following additional pay benefits individuals may be eligible for: - This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is $4,423 - $5024.
- Employees who are employed at High Desert State Prison (HDSP) for 12 consecutive qualifying pay periods will receive an annual $2600 recruitment and retention bonus.
- Please note: Individuals may be eligible to receive a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend should they meet the eligibility criteria, including but not limited to remaining employed with CCHCS for six months. Additionally, individuals may be eligible to receive a monthly recruitment and retention differential during their first year with CCHCS (totaling $5,000), should they meet the eligibility criteria.
IMPORTANT: California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus should you be selected for hire, and remain employed with CCHCS for 90 days. Under the administrative supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), and the clinical supervision of the Staff Psychiatrist, Correctional and Rehabilitative Services (Safety), the Medical Assistant (MA) provides support to the Psychiatrists in a variety of health care settings. The MA under the clinical direction of the Psychiatrist or the valid authorization by a psychiatrist's order is responsible for performing patient oriented procedures, providing support to the mental health care team for daily operations, communicating effectively with patients, Psychiatrists, and other members of the health care team, and performing administrative duties. The MA is responsible for addressing the ongoing needs of patients, working with the Psychiatrists and other health care providers, and promoting the efficient, appropriate, and costeffective use of health care resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California to practice as a Medical Assistant.
