Carilion Clinic is seeking a fellowship-trained Interventional Gastroenterologist to join its established and growing Section of Gastroenterology based at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 763-bed tertiary referral center and Level 1 Trauma Center in southwest Virginia.
This faculty position offers the opportunity to provide advanced interventional care, teach the next generation of clinicians, and contribute to the continued growth of a high-performing, collaborative academic program.
Position Overview
Clinical Focus: Outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology, advanced endoscopy (ERCP, EUS, and related procedures), and consultation services
Academic Appointment: at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, with opportunities for teaching medical students, residents (72 internal medicine residents), and GI fellows and APPs
Advanced Endoscopy Training: supervision of our 4th-year Interventional GI Fellow
Robust support from interventional radiology, pathology, and surgery programs
Referral Base: Strong internal employed referral network with large department of Family Medicine with 300 clinicians
Candidate Qualifications
Board Certification in Gastroenterology
Completion of an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and collaborative, team-based care
Interest in a clinically busy academic practice with potential for scholarly contributions
