Responsible for managing the operations of the Children’s Surgery Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in collaboration with medical directors and Director of Surgical Quality and Trauma Program. Responsible for the organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to children with surgical needs. Plays an active role in the administration and review of children’s surgical care across the continuum, from admission through discharge. Promotes the delivery of high quality surgical care through clinical practice, consultation, education, collaboration, leadership and research. Assumes accountability for coordinating the functions within the program which includes program planning and development, clinical practice/ system coordination, developing and managing the operational budget, supervising personnel working within the department, overseeing the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) activities and personnel, providing education to the multidisciplinary personnel involved in surgical care both within Phoenix Children’s and other outside agencies while maintaining compliance with all state and national guidelines for verification.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
Master’s Degree in Nursing or Business Administration (Preferred)
Experience
3 or more years of experience in surgical centers (Required)
Prior management experience and nursing experience in related departments (Preferred)
Certifications
Current State of Arizona RN License from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 Days of hire. (Required)
Current PALS Certification or obtained within 9 months of hire. (Required)
