Are you looking for an opportunity to directly impact patient care? We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Outpatient Oncology Pharmacy Specialist to join our team. Key responsibilities include:
Ensure safe and effective use of oncology therapy
Collaborating with nurses, oncologists, midlevel providers and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care
Managing drug-drug interactions
Development of treatment plans
Supporting patients with education on their medications and chemotherapy treatment plans
The ideal candidate will have:
A strong background in oncology pharmacy
Excellent communication skills
A passion for improving patient outcomes
PGY1 residency required. (PGY2 in oncology/ambulatory experience preferred)

Role Purpose
Evaluates and recommends appropriate drug therapy to achieve optimal cost-effective patient outcomes, by working directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients. Participates in the development, provision and evaluation of comprehensive pharmaceutical care and quality assurance programs through scholarly activities. Serves as a resource to the pharmacy staff and other hospital departments.
Responsibilities
Assess the overall status of the patient?s health condition and evaluates medication profile for optimal patient outcomes. Monitors therapy and goals of care. Documents all activities and communication as appropriate.
Participates in professional development and research activities.
Contributes to performance improvement, clinical effectiveness, drug use evaluation, and HSO/BJC committee activities.
Participates in the education and training of pharmacy staff, residents and students, and serves as a role model and mentor.
Participates in the identification and implementation of targeted drug cost reduction programs.
