SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Director of Compliance and Privacy (Investigation and Guidance) will report directly to the Vice President of Compliance and Privacy and will provide oversight and strategic direction to the organization's compliance and privacy program while serving as a role model for ethical management behavior. The individual selected for this role will be a seasoned, transparent, and collaborative compliance leader within the healthcare industry and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing regulatory compliance oversight and internal compliance audit across Penn State Health. Network and performance strategies are focused on the post-acute care facility continuum of care including but not limited to Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) and inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRF) and home health agencies (HHA). External partners will be SNF, IRF and HHA.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor's degree
Minimum ten (10) years experience in comprehensive compliance, audit, billing, coding, and documentation experience, preferably in complex health care system.
Minimum five (5) years experience in managing, guiding, mentoring, and motivating a team in a complex organization with demonstrated skills in developing strong, collaborative teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Advanced degree
Coding certification (e.g., CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT)
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
Professional privacy certifications (e.g., Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), etc.)
GDRP or other international or privacy experience
Strong skills in network and business development, managing the relationship of health care business across various care settings
