Phoenix Children’s is seeking an experienced nursing leader to advance nursing science, evidence-based practice, and innovation across our organization. In this highly visible role, the Director of Nursing Research & Innovation will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of pediatric nursing research projects and nursing-sensitive quality initiatives that improve clinical outcomes and elevate nursing practice.
This leader will foster a culture of clinical inquiry, mentor nurses in research and evidence-based practice, and translate findings into practice to drive excellence in patient care. The Director will collaborate with the CNO, nursing leadership, providers, and academic partners to set strategic research goals and develop innovative programs that support professional development and the transition to practice.
Key responsibilities include: •Leading nursing research and evidence-based practice initiatives •Driving quality improvement and nursing-sensitive indicator outcomes •Developing performance metrics and monitoring systems •Partnering with schools of nursing and academic affiliates on research and training opportunities •Supporting policies, procedures, and continuous process improvement at the departmental and organizational level

This position provides leadership, assistance, and support in the development, implementation, and evaluation of pediatric nursing research projects and nursing quality initiatives, which enhance the quality and outcomes of pediatric nursing care at Phoenix Children’s. This position also develops pediatric nursing research goals in collaboration with the CNO, nursing leadership, providers, other health care professionals, and patients and families.
Education
Doctor of Nursing Practice or Ph.D. (Required)
Experience
Five (5) years of acute care clinical nursing experience with expertise applying principles of evidence-based practice. (Required)
Certifications
Current State of Arizona RN License or from a compact state with multistate privileges OR the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
National certification in area of specialty or related field. (Required)
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained within 60 days of hire. (Required)
