The UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine - VA Wadsworth is seeking a Psychologist II to join the Sleep Research Group (SRG), located on the UCLA Westwood campus in collaboration with the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.
As part of this dynamic, mission-driven research team, you will provide behavioral health support within a clinical research setting, working directly with participants enrolled in studies focused on sleep disorders, such as insomnia. The SRG’s overarching mission is to improve the health and quality of life of older adults through innovative, evidence-based research funded by the VA, NIH, and other agencies.
In this role, you’ll deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to research participants following established study protocols. You’ll also collaborate closely with investigators, trainees, and research staff across UCLA and partnering institutions, contributing to high-impact studies that advance the understanding and treatment of sleep and behavioral health.
25% time limited position may convert to career
Salary: $10,982.88 - $14,485.50 monthly
QualificationsRequired:
Ph.D or PsyD degree in clinical psychology and minimum of 1 year of post-doctoral experience in clinical psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
California Psychology License
Knowledge and practice of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Minimum of 1 year internship and 1 year of fellowship/post-graduate experience
Experience coordinating research projects including data collection, administering of assessments and interventions
Knowledge of the principles and practices of behavioral sleep medicine as demonstrated by post-graduate training in the field and participation in related research.
Thorough knowledge of major issues and recent research in behavioral medicine and healthcare delivery models to design effective behavioral interventions.
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of health services and clinical research to provide expert advice and consultation.
Ability to implement behavioral interventions and conduct, score and interpret clinician-administered interviews according to published methods and research protocols.
Ability to apply principles of adult education to develop appropriate education materials for patients and training materials for research staff.
Ability to communicate, both orally (in person and by telephone), respond to inquiries, and interact with UCLA officials and representatives from public and private healthcare organizations.
Advanced-level expertise with major office computer programs, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
