Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated, effective, and compassionate Addiction Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients with substance use disorders and addiction-related health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and assessments for patients with substance use disorders
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices for addiction medicine
Prescribe and manage medications for addiction treatment
Provide ongoing continuity of care and transitions of care for patients with substance use disorders
Diagnose and treat co-occurring mental health disorders in patients with substance use disorders
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Participate in patient education and counseling on substance use and addiction-related topics
Teach fellows, residents, medical students and other health professional students in clinical settings
Stay updated on the latest advancements in addiction medicine and incorporate them into practice
Qualifications:
Allopathic or osteopathic medical degree from an accredited medical school
Board certification or eligibility in Addiction Medicine
Board certification in primary medical specialty
Valid state medical license and DEA registration and eligibility for an active, unrestricted Missouri license and BNDD registration
Experience in diagnosing and treating patients with substance use disorders
Strong knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment modalities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care
Additional Requirements:
Ability to perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and respond to medical emergencies
Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development
Familiarity with electronic health record systems
