Job Summary
Baptist Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Obesity Medicine & Bariatric Weight Loss Clinic in the Jacksonville Area.
As leaders in obesity medicine, our program continues to grow rapidly and expand access to evidence-based, compassionate care for patients seeking meaningful, sustainable weight loss. We are looking for an advanced practice provider who is passionate about improving patients' lives through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach.
In this role, you will:
- Provide obesity medicine care for patients seeking weight loss through medical management, lifestyle intervention, and behavioral support.
- Conduct holistic evaluations, including weight and dieting history, contributing medical factors, and barriers to weight loss.
- Partner closely with wellness coaches, dietitians, and health psychologists to create individualized and effective treatment plans.
- Diagnose and manage medical conditions related to obesity, adjusting medications where appropriate to support weight loss and improve comorbidities.
- Support patients who are pursuing bariatric surgery by providing education, coordinating pre-surgical weight optimization, and improving health factors that influence surgical outcomes.
- Provide long-term follow-up for post-bariatric surgery patients, primarily those experiencing weight regain one year or more after surgery.
- Participate in the expansion of our pre-surgical weight management pathway to reduce surgical risks and improve outcomes.
- Deliver care both in-person and through telemedicine, with flexibility as the program grows and clinic locations evolve.

Master's Degree
Education Preferred
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Experience
- Less than 1 year experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
License and Certification
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) Required
- Licensed Physician Assistant Required
- Licensed Advanced Nurse Practitioner
- Certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
