Certified Nurse Midwife, Outpatient Only, Poughkeepsie, NY (75 minutes North of New York City) - up to $20,000 in sign-on bonuses!     

Vassar Brothers Medical Center of Nuvance Health, proudly joining Northwell Health, located just 75 minutes north of New York City, is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join our successful and growing OB/GYN group.  This is an outpatient only position. We are a collaborative Midwife/OB-GYN team providing care to a diverse patient population that draws from multiple counties in the Hudson Valley. We currently have 5 midwives in the practice and are seeking to increase staffing to 7. Our goal is to provide 24/7 midwifery coverage alongside our physician colleagues. The ideal candidate is dedicated to the midwifery model of patient empowerment, that is grounded in compassion and shared decision making. A full-time outpatient only midwife will work 5 clinic days per week (80 hours per two week pay period). Monday through Friday schedule.    

The ideal candidate will be a team player, have excellent communication skills, easily establish rapport and trust with patients and families, is committed to evidence-based care and practices, and values working with a diverse patient population. We are seeking a candidate that is reliable and adaptable and has a high level of clinical competence, compassion and empathy, commitment to patient education, cultural sensitivity, excellent interdisciplinary collaboration skills, and passion for lifelong learning and professional development.   

We have practice offices located in Poughkeepsie, Fishkill and Highland and work alongside 7 board certified physicians. The practice admits exclusively to Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Our busy Labor and Delivery Unit sees about 2,800 babies born each year. We have a level III NICU staffed by neonatologists, as well as an excellent Perinatology program. In addition, we have fellowship trained breast surgeons and GYN-oncologists that are located on the Vassar Hospital campus.

Located on the banks of the scenic Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a new 752,000 square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 263 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms.
